Iga Swiatek is a Polish 19-year-old who is taking the tennis world by storm. The teenager missed a chunk of the 2019 season due to a foot injury but 2020 has been much better.

The Polish star reached the final of the French Open and shocked the world by defeating Sofia Kenin in straight sets.

Swiatek rose to fame after defeating top seed Simona Halep in the fourth round, and now has a Grand Slam title to her name.

The Pole has won 7 ITF titles but is yet to win a WTA title. Swiatek had never reached the final of a Grand Slam before the 2020 French Open.

Her best Grand Slam performance was reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open which took place in 2020.

Iga Swiatek has earned over $1million as prize money and her net worth should be around the same mark too.

Her career-best ranking has been 48, while her current ranking is 54. However, she should improve on that after the 2020 French Open.

Coach

Iga Swiatek has had many people coach her over the years. Michal Kaznowski was her coach during the early years of her career and she worked with him till the 2016 French Open.

Piotr Sierzputowski has been her coach ever since 2016 and she has help from other members too. Former tennis star Nick Brown is part of her team and so is sports psychologist Daria Abramowicz.

Jolanta Rusin-Krzepota used to work with the 19-year-old but the physical trainer left after the 2019 US Open.

Early life

Swiatek comes from a family of sportspeople with her father, Tomasz Swiatek a rower for the Polish side in the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the quadruple sculls event.

Iga and her elder sister, Agata, both were trained for singles sports as their father wanted them to take up individual sports.

Agata started off as a swimmer before moving to tennis with Iga following suit. While Agata had to stop playing during her early teens due to injury, Iga continued her training and has become one of the top Polish players.

Iga Swiatek is one of the rising stars in the tennis world but there is no confirmation of her dating anyone or having a boyfriend just yet.

Endorsements and sponsorships

While Iga Swiatek is a rising star, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t have some sponsors. Asics, a Japanese multi-national footwear and sports apparent company has been the sponsor for the teen.

Earlier, Swiatek was sponsored by American giants Nike. She also is sponsored by Red Bull and Lexus.
