Where is the reality show Survivor 44 being filmed?
The “Survivor” series that has become such a staple for every hard-core reality television lover has once again come to our television screens, with the same host Jeff Probst still hosting new participants. However, though the participants are new, the location is still a very familiar one.
The 44th season of “Survivor,” was officially given the green light by CBS in March 2022 and began filming in Fiji immediately after the 43rd cycle wrapped production in the summer of 2021. As it turns out, the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji is once again, the location of “Survivor” for the 12th consecutive time.
While the show globe-trotted and explored for its first 16 years on the air, it officially moved permanently to this locale in the South Pacific Ocean in Season 33 (“Millennials vs. Gen X”). “I hope we stay here forever,” the host Probst declared in 2017 while praising Fiji’s clear water, beautiful beaches and friendly government.
Even though the pastures are familiar to everyone watching on TV, it is certainly a whole different experience for the new set of participants who are taking part in this season.
The participants this season are namely, Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho, Carson Garrett, Helen Li, Bruce Perreault, Sarah Wade and Carolyn Wiger, Matt Blankinship, Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt, Frannie Marin, Danny Massa, Claire Rafson and Josh Wilder, Brandon Cottom, Kane Fritzler, Matthew Grinstead-Mayle, Lauren Harpe, Maddy Pomilla and Jaime Lynn Ruiz.
Who exited Survivor 44 on day 1?
Amongst all of the above participants, two left the show on the very first day itself.
Bruce Perreault was unlucky to leave the show on the very first day after coming across a brutal head injury. In one of the very first challenges of the season premiere of the universally loved reality show, Perreault was sent home after suffering a head injury in the very first challenge of the first day.
Perrault was not the only one leaving for home on the season premiere Though, as Maddy Pomilla was also voted off the show. Though there are quite a few more contestants left, the ranks will slowly get thinner as the show approaches its later episodes.
