Maryse Ouellet is a former WWE Superstar and is the wife of none other than former WWE Champion The Miz. She is currently signed to WWE and appears for the Raw brand.
Besides a wrestler, she is also a buisnesswoman, a manager, glamour model, actress and reality star. She won the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada in 2003. Maryse officially signed with WWE after she participated in WWE’s Diva Search competition.
She is also a former WWE Divas Champion which Maryse held for seven months. She became the third-longest reigning Divas champion of all time in February 2010. Maryse won her second Divas title and became the first WWE female wrestler to do so. Shen then went on to manage Ted Dibiase Jr and co-hosted NXT.
After a long time away from the ring, she came back to WWE’s main roster. She also made her in-ring return at Royal Rumble 2022. At the Elimination Chamber, the power couple also faced Edge and his wife, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix.
Maryse talks about her first conversation with The Miz during WWE Divas Search
Maryse was interviewed by Sportsnet, where she opened her first conversation with The Miz during the WWE Divas Search, where he was one of the judges. He even asked for a “real answer” and not a “beauty pageant” during the auditions.
“When I got to my WWE audition in Los Angeles for the Diva Search, guess who was one of the judges? The Miz,” said Maryse. They said, ‘Hi, what’s your name?’ I said, ‘Hi, my name is Maryse’. (…) I started to speak, and The Miz stopped me and said, ‘No, we don’t want to have a beauty answer, a beauty pageant answer, we want to have a real answer.'” (H/T Wrestling Inc.)
