Alfredo James Pacino was born in East Harlem to Italian-American parents Rose (née Gerardi) and Salvatore Pacino on April 25, 1940. At two, his parents divorced. He and his sister moved to the South Bronx with his mother’s parents, Kate and James Gerardi, Italian refugees from Corleone. His father, an insurance salesman and restaurant owner from San Fratello, immigrated to Covina, California, where Al Pacino was born.

Plot
“I’m always retired. I was retired when I was twenty-five. I mean, who cares? Please don’t call it retired, I just don’t want to work anymore…I don’t know, sometimes I just don’t want to do it as much. I like the lead-up to it, you know what I mean? It’s sort of like foreplay or something. I wake up in the morning, I sit at the edge of the bed …and I think, ‘Is it possible that I’m gonna get through this day?’ And then I think, ‘But I did say that yesterday, and I said it the day before and the day before that, and I got through it. I said that this morning, ladies and gentlemen, and you’re seeing him today!”
The titular character in “King Lear” slowly loses his mind when he disposes of his kingdom by leaving bequests to two of his three daughters, encouraged by their constant flattery. This decision has terrible implications for everyone involved.
Michael Radford, who was nominated for an Oscar for directing “Il Postino,” is in charge of the new “Venice” adaptation. He is also in charge of this upcoming project. “Lear is the one that everyone aims for. Al has been toying with the idea for a long time. There’s a difference between Shylock, who’s only in five scenes, and Lear, who is in every scene, pretty much,” Radford said.
“It’s enormous. I think (Pacino) would like to have that kind of kudos because he’s a terrific actor,” he also added. We have to wait for a little more for this awesome movie to come in the theatres, till then we can watch his epic acts in ‘The Godfather’ and many more.
