Leicester City player ratings against Liverpool in the Premier League

Leicester City took on Liverpool and managed to topple them in an end to end Premier League clash. Liverpool dominated much of the proceedings and took the lead through Mohamed Salah. It looked as if they would run away with the game, only for the Foxes to produce a six-minute blitz.

James Maddison scored a free-kick to level things before Jamie Vardy latched onto a defensive mistake from the Reds to give his side the lead. Harvey Barnes ran on and sealed the win with a fine finish to cement Leicester’s top-four hopes.

Leicester player ratings

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Kasper Schmeichel (GK) – 7

Made some crucial saves to deny Liverpool the lead on many occasions. Couldn’t do much to stop the goal, which was finely taken.

Daniel Amartey (RB) – 6

Dealt with the threat of Mane well and had a decent outing.

Jonny Evans (CB) – 6

Powered through an injury in the second half. Was left bamboozled by Roberto Firmino, who set up Liverpool’s goal.

Caglar Soyuncu (CB) – 6

Did well to sweep up at times. A calm and composed presence at the back.

Ricardo Pereira (LB) – 7

Had to play at left-back in the absence of James Justin. Allowed Salah to sneak in shots at times but threatened the opposition with his direct dribbles.

Youri Tielemans (DM) – 7

His diagonal balls from the deep troubled Liverpool on way too many occasions.

Wilfred Ndidi (DM) – 9

Did a fantastic job of shielding the backline on his return. Showed how badly the side have missed him. Played some through balls for the forwards.

Marc Albrighton (RW) – 6

Not the most lively player on the field and was replaced by Ayoze Perez.

James Maddison (AM) – 7

Was quiet for the entirety of the game but produced the moment of magic that equalized the game.

Harvey Barnes (LW) – 8

A huge threat from the left, Barnes regularly found Vardy with his crosses and through balls. Won the all-important freekick that led to the goal. Sealed the game with a fine goal.

Jamie Vardy (ST) – 8

Was a huge threat for the home side as he repeatedly broke past the likes of Ozan Kabak and Jordan Henderson. Capitalized on a huge error by Alisson to stroke home perhaps the easiest goal of his career.
