After Gambit was crowned as the winner in the Valorant Masters event in Berlin, Riot Games has taken a long and hard look at the current meta. They have made some significant changes to the most picked duelist, Jett. Skye is another agent that has been nerfed after the Masters event. Along with some slight changes to Kay/O utility, almost all the maps are getting a significant change. Here are the 5 things that you should know about the Valorant 3.06 patch notes.

Jett

Some of the most cracked players in Valorant are Jett players. Tenz, Shahzam, Wardell and Cned have proved that this agent can change the complete game. Keeping that in mind, Riot Games has decided to nerf this overpowered agent.

Cloudburst Charges reduced to 2 from 3

Bladestorm right-click/ alternate fire kills will no longer recharge the blades and the damage done by each knife will be the same as the primary fire one.

Skye

The Skye ultimate releases 3 seekers that reveal the enemy locations and near-sight them if they are not shot in time. In difficult situations, the ultimate ability can win a round easily. Skye’s guiding light mechanism is also changed slightly.

Skye Ultimate Seekers cost increased to 7 from 6

Guiding Light unequip time after casting or bending Guiding Light’s projectile increased 0.75 from 0.5. The windup time after activation before the flash goes off increased to 0.3 from 0.25

Kay/O

The newest agent released in Valorant is getting a buff. When Kay/O was first released the suppression ability could have had a meta changing impact on the game. But Kay/O does not have a high pick rate in higher ELOs. This is a much needed buff to his utility to make him viable in the current meta.

The Flash/Drive duration of the windup telegraph has been reduced to 0.3 seconds from 0.5 seconds. The duration of the windup telegraph on right-click has also been reduced to 0.3 seconds from 1 second. The audio for the in-flight projectile has also been removed.

Kay/O’s ultimate ability Null/CMD will continue to pulse even after he is knocked down

Map Updates

The green Radianite boxes on various maps are getting changed. They are positioned in key spots where spamming these boxes have a major influence on rounds. We will see these changes on Icebox, Haven, Ascent, Bind and the newly released map Fracture.

Minor Changes

The users of Public Beta Environment (PBE) can now import their in-game settings from the live version of the game. The Icebox minimap vision cones will now display the yellow callout correctly. A much needed quality of life improvement in the Deathmatch mode where you will not be banned for AFK-ing.

Various professional players have the same opinion regarding the Jett nerfs. According to them the Cloudburst and Bladestorm do not require a nerf. Instead, the dash ability should be nerfed to only dashing in the direction that the agent is facing.
