The Soldier of God had an interesting take when asked for Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou prediction
Despite Jon Jones’ heavyweight future being uncertain, a fight against the newly-crowned heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is bound to happen someday.
The pair would have already had their fight scheduled by now, had there not been any payment dispute between UFC President Dana White and Jones.
However, that hasn’t deterred Jones in anyway. He has been training like a madman ever since his move to the heavyweight division in August 2020.
Elsewhere, former UFC middleweight and Bellator’s latest recruit Yoel Romero gave his prediction for the Jones vs Ngannou fight.
The Cuban brought up Jones’ immense fight IQ and claimed that it would go a long way in the LHW GOAT winning the fight against Ngannou.
Romero told Helen Yee:
“Francis [Ngannou] is an amazing and incredible fighter…But, My prediction – Jonny. 100% Jonny…Actually, when you see them as an athlete, Jonny is more intelligent. Jonny knows the way to victory. He is a very smart guy.”
Yoel Romero reveals if Jon Jones is the MMA GOAT
The never-ending GOAT debate in MMA features a list of unbelievably decorated fighters. Among those names are Georges St-Pierre, Jon Jones and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Romero was asked by Helen Yee if Jones was the MMA GOAT according to him.
The Cuban replied:
“100%. I think Jonny is the best MMA fighter right now in the planet. Georges St-Pierre and Khabib are my best friends too. But, it is what it is, Jonny right now is the best.”
Romero will soon be making his debut in Bellator MMA, after being forced to withdraw from his first fight against Anthony Johnson, due to a failed medical test.
