However, they both were using different tactics in the clash. Kunitskaya was busy using a ton of punches and kicks while Vieira was trying to use her ground game and wrestling a lot.

In the end, it was Kunitskaya who got the unanimous decision win after three rounds. She also busted Vieira wide open with some brutal elbows and the Brazilian was left a bid of a bloodied mess.

This was a bit of a gruesome end to the fight but there was a lot of controversy in the decision.

While Kunitskaya got her rival bloodied open, there was the talk about how she lost the fight thanks to the great ground game of Vieira.

Adam Hill, a US sports reporter, didn’t agree with the decision and especially the scores from the judges:

However, many fans pointed out that Kunitskaya had the advantage with her strikes while Vieira didn’t really do a lot with her ground control.

Yana Kunitskaya and her fiancé celebrate the win

This was the Russian’s second win in a row and she now holds an MMA record of 14 wins, 5 losses and one no contest.

She was keen to fight anyone who was above her next and it will be interesting to see who the Bantamweight star gets next.

Thiago Santos, the fiancé of Kunitskaya, was there to celebrate the win for his wife to be. He posted a photo of the team after the fight and thanked God for all that was going on:

This was a good contest between the two women but Kunitskaya still needs another win or two before she can think of fighting for UFC gold.
