Montserrat Conejo Ruiz got a surprise win over Cheyanne Buys and showed the middle finger to her rival after the fight

UFC Fight Night Vegas 22 had some quality fights on the main card. One big fight saw two rising stars take each other on in Montserrat Conejo Ruiz and Cheyanne Buys.

Buys, who had seen her husband JP Buys, lose on the card came into this fight as the favourite.

Cheyanne had a record of 5-1 coming into this fight but it was her Mexican rival, Conejo, who got the better of the American.

Conejo dominated her rival with a lot of wrestling and side locks. Buys did have some good hits at the end of the first round and started the same way in the second.

However, there was no denying Conejo and how much work she did on the ground. She controlled Cheyanne Buys throughout the three rounds and was more or less set for the win going into the final seconds of the fight.

Then things got a little hairy. Buys and Conejo had a few punches thrown but when the final horn was blown, it was Conejo who seemed to taunt her opponent. Cheyanne didn’t take this well and she pushed her opponent and both stars had to be celebrated.

The pair being separated wasn’t enough. Conejo kept trash talking and even showed her rival the middle finger too.

This was done several times and there seemed to be a lot of bad blood brewing between them.

Montserrat impressed on her UFC debut and moved to 10-1 in her career. She certainly enjoyed the win in the end and also celebrated a lot by dancing with her team.

While some fans questioned the tactics of Conejo, there is no doubt that she dominated her rival and won based on the scorecard.

It will be interesting to see what is next for the Mexican but she has started her UFC career with a bang, but most of that came after the three rounds ended.
