Marina Rodriguez seemed to have finished Amanda Ribas and Herb Dean seemed to have stopped the fight but restarted it

The first fight of the main card at UFC 257 had a lot of controversy. This happened in the second round of the match after the first was lost by Marina Rodriguez.

Amanda Ribas seemed to have gotten the better of her rival, but things changed in the second round.

A punch from Rodriguez dropped Ribas and she was out, or it seemed. Herb Dean, the referee, rushed into the fight and seemed to have stopped it by stepping in between the stars.

However, he didn’t signal the fight to be over and Rodriguez was already celebrating. The fight continued and Rodriguez didn’t look too happy.

However, it didn’t hurt her much as Ribas was still out and another couple of hits did the job for the Brazilian.

This was a bit of a crazy moment in the fight and it could have backfired on Dean if Rodriguez wasn’t sure of the ending.

Dean could have seen Ribas come back and beat Rodriguez but that didn’t happen, and a bit of a huge issue was avoided.

Rodriguez confident in the win

The Brazilian, however, wasn’t too concerned when Dean stepped in initially. She was speaking after the win and said that when the referee moved away, she was ready to get into the action.

Rodriguez also has some big plans for the division. She claimed that she wanted to fight any women in the top five of the Strawweight division.

Rodriguez also believed that she would be in the top five of the division. Of course, she is thinking of winning the title and it will be interesting to see what is next for her.
