Conor McGregor had to work hard to get into the UFC and a loss at UFC 257 won’t make him forget his roots

Conor McGregor is a real rags to riches story in the UFC as he came up the ranks to become one of the biggest stars in the world.

The Irishman has captured the imagination of the MMA world and even has fought Floyd Mayweather Jr in a huge boxing match.

McGregor has made millions over the years and he isn’t afraid to show off how he spends the cash. Costly watches, mansions and crazy cars are all part and parcel for McGregor. However, he hasn’t forgotten his roots and his early plumbing days.

The Irishman completed an apprenticeship in plumbing while in his native country. He must have been around the construction workers a lot and he shared a video of him using an excavator after the UFC 257 loss.

It is difficult to say where he was doing this but he should still be in Abu Dhabi after losing to Dustin Poirier.

McGregor also posted a message and claimed he would “build” it back and losses happen to the best too:

“Back on the sites, it happens the best of us. We’ll build it back! #DublinMiniDiggers

McGregor wants a trilogy

McGregor might not be the most humble fighter before a clash but that isn’t the case after it. His trash talking is legendary but outside of the fight zone, he never forgets where he came from.

The loss to Poirier was a huge one given that many expected him to get the win. He is keen on a third fight with Poirier as the series is 1-1.

However, it is to be seen how his leg is after the clash. McGregor was seen hobbling after the fight as Poirier used a ton of calf kicks.

McGregor is still one of the biggest names in the business and his next fight will surely be a blockbuster in PPV terms.
