Clay Guida had a different motivational technique ahead of his UFC Las Vegas 3 fight

Clay Guida is a veteran in the UFC business with 50+ professional fights under his belt. However, even veterans need motivation when entering the Octagon.

Guida was in action at UFC Las Vegas 3 as he took on Bobby Green in a preliminary Lightweight fight.

Most UFC stars get some final words from their coach before entering the cage, however, Guida got slapped multiple times by his brother ahead of the clash.

Clay is the younger brother of MMA star Jason Guida, and the commentators picked up on this.

It was Jason who was slapping Clay, and that was something that UFC legend Michael Bisping didn’t like.

Bisping claimed that he would have slapped the person back if someone did that to him. However, this was an interesting technique to amp up a fighter before entering the cage.

Tactic didn’t work

While Clay did seem to be charged up for the fight, the slapping didn’t result in a win. It was Green who picked up the via a unanimous decision after three rounds.

Clay is now 35-20 in his UFC career and he is a former Strikeforce champion. The veteran has picked up several awards during his time in the UFC but is yet to lift a belt here.

He also has one of his fights in the Hall of Fame fight wing, which was against Diego Sanchez. Green is also one of the veterans in the sport with 35 fights under his belt.

The 33-year-old Green moved to 25 wins and 10 losses after this win, and it will be interesting to see what happens with the pair after this clash.
