Vanessa Demopoulos jumped into Joe Rogan’s arms after winning her UFC 270 bout

UFC women’s strawweight fighter Vanessa Demopoulos took on Silvana Gomez Juarez at UFC 270. Demopoulos put on an amazing performance in her fight and won via submission in round one itself. However, it is worth noting that her victory did not come without challenges, she was dropped in the opening moments of the fight, but came back strongly to win the fight.

After securing her seventh pro-win which was also her first win in the UFC, the UFC strawweight was rather excited and decided to jump into Joe Rogan’s arms during the post-fight interview.

Vanessa Demopoulos reveals she quit being a stripper to focus on MMA full-time

After her emphatic victory, Demopoulos revealed that she was an exotic dancer for 13 years. However, she claimed that she quit her job about six-eight weeks prior to her UFC 270 bout to focus on her MMA career. Speaking at the post-fight interview, she said:

“I don’t think it’s a secret, I was an exotic entertainer for 13 years, I didn’t actually say it on the mic but I’d like to say it right now, I walked away from being a stripper to continue this camp. I quit dancing about, like, six to eight weeks ago just so I could focus full time on MMA. Take this extremely seriously in the gym everyday, so yeah, that’s where that background comes from, that’s where those splits come from. And a lot of my jiu-jitsu comes from my expertise as a pole dancer.”

It is safe to say that Demopoulos is taking MMA very seriously. It will be interesting to see how she does in the UFC moving forward.
