Jairzinho Rozenstruik took on Augusto Sakai in the main event of UFC Fight Night 189

Rozenstruik got back to winning ways after a minor blip in his UFC career. The Surinamese had won just one of his last 3 matches, and was coming off a disappointing loss against Ciryl Gane, earlier this year.

But ‘Bigi Boy’ put on a largely improved performance, as he viciously knocked out Sakai right at the very end of the first round.

With just one second left on the clock for the end of the first round, Rozenstruik’s flurry of punches sealed the deal after his massive right hand knocked down the Brazilian.

The win might push Rozenstruik back into the top 5 of the heavyweight division, after his recent run of form had him at number 6.

The Surinamese was elated with his own performance as he posted a series of Tweets to let the world know that he was back.

Here is how several people from the MMA community reacted to Rozenstruik’s victory:

Jairzinho Rozenstruik won the Performance of the Night Bonus

Rozenstruik would be walking back home as a delighted man, as his brutal KO saw him win the Performance of the Night Bonus. This will be the Surinamese’s highest fight earnings as he is expected to take home a whopping $226,000.

He is believed to have got $80,000 to show and $80,000 for the win. Adding it with the Performance of the Night Bonus which amounts to $50,000 and fight week incentive pay of $6000 makes it $226,000.

Bigi Boy will now be looking forward to asserting his dominance once again in the heavyweight division.
