Miocic had six wins and 0 defeats in his MMA career before joining the UFC in 2011. He managed to get into the UFC business after winning the NAAFS Heavyweight Championship.

Miocic’s first fight in the UFC saw him go up against Joey Beltran, where he won via unanimous decision. His first defeat of his MMA and UFC career came against Stefan Struve in 2012.

Miocic then went on to win five of his six fights before getting an opportunity to win the UFC heavyweight championship. In May 2016, he KO’d Fabrício Werdum to clinch the heavyweight crown.

He defended his title three times before briefly losing to Daniel Cormier in July 2018. However, Miocic returned to win back his title the following year and defended it against Cormier in 2020 as well.

The American fighter, however, lost his belt to Francis Ngannou in March 2021 at UFC 260. However, reports claim that Miocic is eyeing a comeback to the Octagon later this year.
