Jon Jones moved up to the Heavyweight division in the UFC and Brock Lesnar could make a return to the promotion

UFC legend Stephan Bonnar travelled to Abu Dhabi for the UFC 253 event. The American will be in the corner of Diego Sanchez and was excited for the clash against Jake Matthews.

Sanchez is a UFC veteran and although he isn’t at the top of his game, he is still dangerous. Matthews is an up and coming prospect but Bonnar believed Sanchez could cause a lot of problems for his rival.

The UFC Hall of Famer was speaking to the Schmo and was asked about Jon Jones. The American vacated his UFC Light Heavyweight title to move up to the Heavyweight one.

While no details have surfaced on who Jones might face, he could go up against Brock Lesnar. The WWE star is a former champion in the UFC and recently became a free agent.

Lesnar hasn’t signed a deal with the UFC yet but Jones has called him out. Bonnar was asked about this and the 43-year-old shared what could be Jones’ thought process:

“He wants the big-money fight with Brock Lesnar. I don’t blame him, you know, it’s hard to get up for some of these guys.

“He wants a fight he can get up for against a huge marquee name and also get a payday he is not going to get from the smaller names, I don’t blame him.”

Wrestling mixing with MMA

While the UFC doesn’t allow a lot of flashy entrances, things are changing a bit. Colby Covington and Henry Cejudo have created characters which could work in professional wrestling.

Israel Adesanya has also made some great entrances in the past and Bonnar understood where the UFC stars were coming from.

The 43-year-old claimed that while it works in wrestling, it is doing well in the UFC too. It helps the character sell a story and has earned stars millions of dollars over the years.
