Michel Prazeres was handed another ban after testing positive for banned substances in 2019

Former UFC star Michel Prazeres has been suspended by the UFC’s anti-doping partner, USADA, reports ESPN.

The release claims that the Brazilian had been found guilty of a second doping violation in the span of three years and would be suspended for four years.

Prazeres, who has 26 wins and four losses in his professional MMA career, was suspended for two years after he tested positive for anabolic agents. He did make a return to the UFC after serving his suspension, however, things have not gone right for him.

The report adds that the Brazilian tested positive for several substances such as anti-estrogen agent clomiphene, metabolites of the steroid oxandrolone and the exogenous administration of testosterone.

These were found in urine samples taken across four dates between August and November 2021.

The Brazilian star had lost his last two outings in the UFC and had asked for his release from the promotion.

Furthermore, the 40-year-old would only be able to return to action in 2025 in the UFC.

Michel Prazeres slams USADA

The Brazilian also contemplated retiring from MMA. However, he later found out that the USADA ban does not apply in other countries and there is a possibility he could fight in Brazil.

There was more to come from the Brazilian as he slammed the USADA. Prazeres told MMA Fighting that he was prescribed Clomid to treat his fertility issues.

His wife, Cassia Andrade dos Prazeres, is now three months pregnant (h/t MMA Fighting):

“I told [USADA] everything. I said my wife and I were doing treatment to have another baby,” Prazeres said. “This is not a steroid, this is a medication. They interviewed me, my wife and my doctor, they took all the receipts and medical records, the exams I’ve done, and these sons of b*tches still do that?”

Prazeres also called the USADA a b**** and a wh*** before sharing his plans for the future:

“I made money [in the UFC] but I prefer my peace,” Prazeres said. “How am I not going to give my wife a child because of USADA and the UFC? F*ck them. My family comes first. [MMA] ends, but family is forever.

“I couldn’t give a sh*t [about USADA],” he continued. “I can fight in Brazil, I can make money in Brazil.”

The 40-year-old isn’t the first fighter to fall foul of the UFC and USADA’s tough stance on performance-enhancing drugs.

However, it seems the USADA might have been a little too harsh on the Brazilian if we go by his account.
