Sean Strickland has made a name for himself by virtue of his brash comments and unfiltered opinion. While some might find it outrageous, others have embraced his crude personality.

However, his recent tweets in the wake of the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia might distress many. The UFC middleweight fighter has suggested Ukraine surrender to Russia.

“Ukraine should just bend the knee and become Russian… I understand it sucks and yes you could win….. but do you really want to be the new Afghanistan for the next 30 years??? Not saying it’s right but this hard pill to swallow will be better in the end.”

He continued:

“I want Ukraine to win, I love watching Russians “lose” on YouTube.. BUTTTT I don’t see how Ukraine pulls this off Putin has zero pull out game… This man conquered Chechnya.. You understand the commitment of violence that took?!”

Although the comments seemed atrocious at that point, Strickland clarified that he worries for the well being of the innocent and does not want them to get hurt.

“”Omg Sean said bend the knee” yes you fucking idiots. All You’re going to do is sit behind your phone and tweet. You idiots gonna go pick up a rifle?? Shoot Russians from apartment buildings before it gets leveled, while the innocent family living under you gets killed?! Nope”

Jan Blachowicz hammers Sean Strickland for saying Ukraine should “bend the knee” to Russia

Jan Blachowicz did not take Sean Strickland’s comments on the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war kindly. The Polish fighter was not pleased by Strickland’s suggestion of giving away someone’s freedom.

He replied in a tweet by saying, “Would you? It is easy to give away someone else’s independence… The history of the Eastern European region is full of struggle and suffering. Ukraine – as a country and as a people – has endured much. Their resistance is understandable and admirable. Freedom!”
