Sean Strickland called out middleweight champion Israel Adesanya

Sean Strickland has been on an impressive run of form ever since he was knocked out for the very first time in his career by Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in May 2018.

The number 7 ranked middleweight is unbeaten in five fights and looks set to be a serious threat in the division.

In an interview with ‘The Schmo,’ Strickland expressed his desire to fight middleweight champion Israel Adesanya for the title soon. While calling out ‘The Last Stylebender,’ Strickland also took a sly dig at the gyno he had when he fought Paulo Costa at UFC 253.

Strickland was quoted as saying:

“Izzy f***** starched [Derek] Brunson. Obviously, I want the title fight you know? I’ll bring Izzy a f***** bra. I hope he is f***** cycled off correctly. His f***** titty’s not down to here (pointing to the ground). But, I would like to title fight Izzy. So, do me a favour man, call me out bro. Let’s go anime. (Telling ‘The Schmo’) Anime, f***** gay right?”

Adesanya had a very visible gyno during his fight against Paulo Costa. When asked about the same, Izzy blamed it on weed.

As for Strickland calling Anime, gay, Adesanya is a big fan of Anime. He recently even made his voice acting debut in Netflix’s Baki.

Israel Adesanya takes on Robert Whittaker at UFC 271

Israel Adesanya will take on Robert Whittaker at UFC 271 on the 12th of February, next year. The pair previously fought at UFC 243 in 2019.

Izzy knocked out Whittaker to become the middleweight champion that night. Since then Whittaker has fought his way back to earn his right to challenge for the title once again.
