The fight game of Khabib Nurmagomedov has been an unsolvable puzzle in the sport of mixed martial arts

Khabib Nurmagomedov is hailed as the greatest UFC fighter of all time, by many. ‘The Eagle of Dagestan’ announced his retirement from the sport of MMA after beating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in October 2020.

He left the sport as the greatest lightweight to ever do it. With a record of 29 wins and 0 losses, Khabib has hardly been troubled in any of his fights.

Although, a plenty of members all around the world consider Khabib to be the greatest lightweight of all time, there are a few who deny the same.

Fellow Russian and UFC lightweight Rafael Fiziev is one among them. Although he did not deny the fact that “Khabib was the GOAT”, he did criticize the Russian legend’s fighting style, implying that it was boring.

In an interview with James Lynch, Fiziev said:

“I was never his fan because we have different styles. We have big different styles. I’m a striker and he’s a wrestler. In wrestling, he’s very hard and you can win against everyone with his wrestling that Khabib has, but I don’t like this style. I don’t like fights like when Islam Makhachev fought with Drew Dober (at UFC 259). Three rounds of just wrestling and nothing to show. He finished him, but it was a boring fight.” [via BJPENN.com]

Fiziev is fresh off a victory against Bobby Green at UFC 265. The Russian is currently 10-1 in his MMA career, and is currently on a four-fight win streak.

Tony Ferguson fires shots at Khabib Nurmagomedov

Dubbed the Most Cursed Fight in the history of the promotion, Tony Ferguson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov was cancelled a whopping 5 times.

Although, Ferguson has played a role in few of the cancellations, it is Khabib’s pull-outs that stand out.

And since the Russian retired, the world never got to see Ferguson vs Khabib. Ferguson took a shot at Khabib for the same by posting a Tweet mentioning his record as 29-1.

“Well Then, That Explains Everything” 29 – 1. See Fathead Run, Run Fathead Run *bawk bawk*. -Champ -CSO- WhatAPuts # Time4Work.”
