Israel Adesanya had defended his UFC Middleweight title by beating Paulo Costa
Paulo Costa seems to have created a new persona on social media. Borrachinha constantly shares memes and weird takes on Twitter, and once reacted to a morphed image of himself.
A fan created a female version of Costa, and the Brazilian saw the funny side of things.
All of this actually came as several fans shared hilarious photoshops and edits of Costa.
However, Israel Adesanya took this to another level. The Last Stylebender used the same female photo of Costa, and wished him a Happy Mother’s Day.
Adesanya and Costa have had their own rivalry in the past. However, that was ended when the UFC Middleweight Champion destroyed his Brazilian rival at UFC 253.
Paulo Costa looking to get into the win column
Costa came into his fight with Adesanya undefeated in his MMA career. He was 13-0 and had defeated Yoel Romero for a shot at Middleweight gold.
However, he was dismantled by Adesanya. There was a chance for redemption as he took on Marvin Vettori next, but Costa had weight problems and the fight was turned into a Light Heavyweight one.
Again, Costa didn’t put up a great showing and it was Vettori who got the win. There were rumours of Costa moving up a weight division for his next fight but nothing has been confirmed.
The Brazilian needs to get a win soon as his last two performances have been extremely poor. Costa still has time on his side, but he cannot afford to sit on the sidelines for much longer.
