“Lost his mojo” – Henry Cejudo highlights the problems with Conor McGregor’s fight stance

Henry Cejudo decided to share some of his MMA knowledge to Conor McGregor

Henry Cejudo might come a close second to trash talking, or attempts, when compared to Conor McGregor.

Triple C retired from the UFC after defeating Dominick Cruz but he still is more than happy to impart knowledge to others.

Cejudo was speaking to Helen Yee and re-shared his comments for McGregor. This was coming after the Irishman’s loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257. That saw McGregor’s leg getting beat up pretty bad by Poirier and the Irishman was knocked out by The Diamond.

Cejudo brought up McGregor’s stance in all this and provided a proper breakdown of what had gone wrong for him:

“I was just feeling generous out there but I will go out and repeat it for you Heli.

“Anyhow, the advice I’ve given to Conor McGregor is because I use a safe stance. The difference is I know better than Conor.

“Conor is too heavy on that right foot. He does the karate stuff but he breaks into fight distance too much.

“In other words, there’s three borders you need to recognize. There is safe zone, there is fight zone and there is borders.

“Borders means to me is that you are about an inch away from getting out and an inch away from getting in and actually striking.

“The thing is Conor stands too much in that borders line and more to the fight zone and that is the same reason he is getting caught.

“So, If i was him, i would brush up, maybe bee two to three inches a little further out and it will all make sense for him.”

Cejudo wanted McGregor to change stances when fighting but he also provided his prediction for the trilogy.

Who wins in Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 3?

The trilogy between McGregor and Poirier is set and only the date needs to be finalised it seems.

Cejudo was asked to share his prediction for the trilogy and this time, he backed The Diamond to get the win:

“I think looking back at it now, it will be Dustin again. I was wrong, I underestimated Dustin and his mindset because of the first fight how that kind of happened and just how he got into his head.

“Also, Conor lost his mojo a little bit, he should have continued being the bad guy.”

Cejudo wanted McGregor to go back to his old self and be the bad guy. McGregor has hinted at going down that route after the UFC 257 and it will be interesting to see what happens when he fights Poirier for a third time.
