Lauren Murphy wasn’t impressed by Liliya Shakirova trying to play mind games and gave her the middle finger

Lauren Murphy isn’t someone to be messed with and the 37-year-old American has nerves of steel.

Lucky, as she is called, isn’t all that lucky in the Octagon as she has won her fair share of fights and is looking to win the Flyweight title.

She called out the champion, Valentina Shevchenko, after her win over Liliya Shakirova. While Murphy is ranked #5 in the division, she is on a four-fight win streak and has defeated some stellar names such as Roxanne Modafferi and Andrea Lee.

However, there was one moment that some might have missed before her win over Shakirova. The pair were dealing with the face-off and Shakirova tried to fake a punch at Murphy but Lucky didn’t flinch.

While Dana White stepped in to ensure nothing happens, she flipped the middle finger at her rival.

Not the first time for Murphy

A fan posted the screenshot at Murphy and the UFC star responded to this event. Murphy claimed this wasn’t the first time she had done such a move prior too:

It will be interesting to see what is next for Murphy given her call-out to Shevchenko. The Bullet is one of the best in the UFC and hasn’t lost a fight in two years.

Shevchenko last defeated Katlyn Chookagian at UFC 247 and her next fight is against Jennifer Maia at UFC 255.

Shevchenko has only lost to Amanda Nunes in her MMA career, and she is the favourite to keep hold of her crown.

Murphy might need another win to get close to Shevchenko, and it will be interesting to see who she faces in her next fight.
