Khabib Nurmagomedov has a message for Cristiano Ronaldo for a goal he scored 8 years ago

UFC lightweight legend Khabib Nurmagomedov is an avid football fan. He even stated why he likes it more than MMA in one interview, and was spotted in the high-profile encounter between PSG and Barcelona last month.

Khabib, an avid Real Madrid fan, shared a post of Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a goal 8 years ago against Manchester United in the 2012/2013 UEFA Champions League season.

Ronaldo was there to tap in a low cross at the back-post against his former club. The goal saw Madrid take the lead on aggregate and qualify for the last-8 that season.

And ‘The Russian’ commented ‘classy’ after sharing the video and also the Portuguese star on his Instagram story.

What next for Khabib Nurmagomedov?

Nurmagomedov retired from UFC last year after he beat Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. The 29-0 professional MMA record-holder has been rumoured to return to the promotion.

But as days go by, it looks unlikely. He is supposed to have dinner with Dana White this very weekend as talks over his future seem like finally reaching a climax.

The sooner he takes a decision, the better for everybody. It is in no doubt that fans would want ‘The Eagle’ to soar once again inside the octagon.

But if he does declare his retirement officially, the lightweight division can finally move on. As of now, the trilogy fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor in the summer is as far as the weight class’ future is decided.

There is no title fight in sight as of now and Dana White himself said that a lot of fights have to play out in order to schedule a fight for UFC gold.

That, however, seems more like a ploy to hold up the division until he hears back from Khabib regarding his UFC future.
