“Taking my talents to the 170lb division” – Kevin Holland confirms move to welterweight division

Kevin Holland took to Instagram to confirm that he will be moving to the welterweight division

Kevin ‘The Trailblazer’ Holland will be dropping down to the welterweight division. The 29-year old fighter took to Instagram to confirm the same.

Although he has fought previously at 170lbs, he has never done the same since joining the UFC.

In what looked like an endorsement post on Instagram, of Icon Meals, Holland also confirmed his move to the welterweight division.

He wrote”

“In 2022 I’m taking my talents to the 170lb division with the help of @iconmeals!
SIMPLE. CONVENIENT, FRESH, & AFFORDABLE MEALS TO KEEP YOU ON TRACK EVEN AFTER THANKSGIVING! #iconmeals.”

Holland’s last welterweight bout was back in 2017 when he was a part of the Legacy Fighting Alliance.

He joined the UFC in August 2018, making his debut at UFC 227. At 6 foot 3 inches, Holland will be one of the tallest fighters in the welterweight division.

Kevin Holland had a stellar 2020

Kevin Holland had a stellar run in the year 2020. Starting off with a TKO win over Anthony Hernandez at UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs Harris, Holland went on to fight 5 times in a span of 7 months.

He won all 5 fights, and four of those were finishes. Only his fight against Darren Stewart at UFC Fight Night: Covington vs Woodley was decided via. split decision.

However, 2021 was not kind to Holland. He started off with a loss against Derek Brunson, and a very similar unanimous decision loss against Marvin Vettori.

His last fight was a No-contest against Kyle Daukaus.
