Kevin Holland faces Charlie Ontiveros next after a change in opponent ahead of Fight Night

The coronavirus pandemic had affected the UFC, as it did to other sports promotions, as many stars were unable to train regularly when the virus first hit.

The UFC had to postpone several cards but came back with a bang thanks to Fight Island and some great work by the staff.

Many stars were willing to also take fights on short notice and a few even have fought multiple times during the year.

The UFC listed out several big names who had already won thrice this year and it included the likes of Kevin Holland, Lauren Murphy, Bobby Green, Youssef Zalal, Khamzat Chimaev, Giga Chikadze and more.

Holland and Green will be in action at the latest Fight Night event and Holland was keen on another clash to finish off the year.

5 fights in a year?

UFC stars normally have two or three fights in a year so having four would be a big deal for Holland. However, he isn’t done with his fight against Ontiveros and wants another one to close out 2020.

The 27-year-old Middleweight is on a three-fight win streak and would be keen to make it four, but he plans to have another bout irrespective of the result from this one.

Holland’s fight against Makhmud Muradov has had its problems ahead of the show. Muradov was to face Krzysztof Jotko initially, but Jotko pulled out with an injury.

Jotko was replaced by Holland but Muradov had to be replaced by Ontiveros as Muradov tested positive for Covid-19.

It will be interesting to see how Holland does after the last-minute switch. The American is 19-5 in his MMA career and has lost just one of his last seven fights.
