Kay Hansen and Aljamain Sterling were two UFC stars who put on Venum gear after the recent deal kicked in

It is the dawn of a new era as the UFC Venum deal was officially underway with Kay Hansen, Aljamain Sterling and Brian Ortega all sporting the new gear.

Venum replaced Reebok as the official attire for the UFC and a lot has been said about the financial aspect of the deal.

The fighters are getting a slight raise in how much they make per fight through the Venum sponsorship, but many fans have hit out about this.

The UFC claims that all of the money being made is sent to the fighters, and the fighters do have other sponsors and fight pay outs that are still being provided to them.

Nevertheless, Venum has created some decent looking attire but it isn’t anything extra-ordinary.

It will be interesting to see if they make custom designs, something that Bryce Mitchell finally got with Reebok.

However, another story cropped in during this photo shoot. Many fans were upset with Sterling being one of the athletes on show.

Sterling won the UFC Bantamweight title from Petr Yan after a DQ at UFC 259. Yan was at fault for a horrible knee on a grounded opponent but some believe that Sterling was acting a bit and he decided not to continue.

Many fans have refused to accept Sterling as the champion and hit out at him featuring on this ad.

However, this is a little offensive to Sterling. He was hit with a horrible knee and this is one of the few rules in the UFC that people should know.

Hansen, who is a young rising star in the promotion, hit out at all those attacking Sterling. She added that Sterling and Yan would meet again but was upset at how the champion was constantly being targeted:

“The hate on Aljo I’ve seen on these posts today is ridiculous. Shit happens in the fight game & regardless of anyone’s opinion, it is what it is. They’re gonna eventually run it back. The man can’t even breathe peacefully anymore”

It will be interesting to see what happens when Yan and Sterling have their rematch. Yan dominated Sterling for most of their first bout and the Russian would be keen to reclaim his title.

This would be a chance for Sterling to prove the doubters wrong, again. The American now has a chance to rework on his game plan and getting a proper win over Yan.
