Conor McGregor was critical of Jorge Masvidal pulling out of the UFC 269 fight against Leon Edwards
Jorge Masvidal vs Leon Edwards was one of the big fights at UFC 269. However, that will not take place after Masvidal pulled out due to an undisclosed injury.
This was to be Masvidal’s return to the UFC after his second loss to Kamaru Usman. Edwards, for his part, was coming off a huge win over Nate Diaz, and was keen to get into the Welterweight title scene.
Edwards was critical of Masvidal pulling out of the fight and he has been joined by Conor McGregor.
The Irishman himself is struggling for wins but called out Masvidal for not taking the fight. McGregor also wasn’t happy with Masvidal holding the BMF title and wanted the UFC to strip him off that title.
However, Gamebred wasn’t going to take this lying down and shot back at the Irishman.
Jorge Masvidal calls out Conor McGregor
McGregor is out of action after breaking his ankle in the trilogy versus Dustin Poirier. However, he keeps putting up updates on social media and calling out others.
Masvidal isn’t someone who won’t shoot back, and Gamebred brought his A-game for all this.
The BMF Champion slammed McGregor claiming that the Irishman was off his medication, and for some reason, claimed that Edwards was the Irishman’s client.
Masvidal added that Edwards was going to get the biggest pay day of his career. He finished McGregor by saying that he should go back to fighting people in bars, a shot at when McGregor punched an old man.
Now Masvidal and McGregor are two of the biggest names in the UFC, and it would be great if they were to meet.
However, McGregor would have to move up a division or two to face Masvidal at Welterweight. This has all the ingredients of a tasty rivalry and it will be interesting to see what is next.
