Jon Jones offers Daniel Cormier a chance to end the rivalry and be friends

Former UFC light heavyweight champions Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier have one of the fiercest rivalries outside the octagon.

And they were not so good to each other inside it as well. Their two title fights are considered to be classics in the sport of MMA.

Jones won both times; first at UFC 182, then at UFC 214. The result for the latter, however, was overturned to a no contest. Nevertheless, the two have been rivals for a while and continue to exchange blows at any given chance.

The conversation started with the aforementioned tweet, where Jones was not happy with DC saying he would not knockout anyone at heavyweight.

But uncharacteristically, Jones seemed to be in a good mood when it came to talking about DC. A fan replied to his tweet asking him to bury the hatchet with DC.

The fan also mentioned that their rivalry was one of the best in UFC in that era and that the two should reconcile their differences.

And ‘Bones’ replied to that tweet asking DC if he was ready to become friends. The tone of the tweet is actually precarious.

“What do you say DC, friends? Are you done with the bull****?”

While it seems serious on the surface, you just never know when it comes to these two. Both of them did not need a rivalry to keep them relevant.

But it would be a lie to say that their rivalry with each other did not propel them to further fame and greatness.

But with DC now retired, and Jones making a push at heavyweight, it does seem like a good time for the two to call it a day and ride off into the sunset together.

Well, if not that, then they could go at least go easy on each other on social media next time. But that may just be too much to ask for!
