Jon Jones cannot stop taking shots at retired UFC fighter Daniel Cormier

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones took another jab at Daniel Cormier as the former took to Twitter.

Sunday marked the 6 year anniversary of a legendary bout at UFC 182 between the two for the lightweight belt. And, Jon Jones was adamant to remind Cormier that he is still his ‘superior‘.

DC has fought three fights with Stipe Miocic and considers the trilogy to be one of the biggest rivalries. However, his two title fights with Jon Jones not only took their personal rivalry to the next stage, but elevated the sport to a new level.

Jones and Cormier fought for the light weight belt at UFC 182. The fight had one of the most fiery build-ups in UFC history.

From fighting in the lobby of the venue to a death threat to DC by Jones, it had everything. The fight did not disappoint as well.

Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones have a fiery history

Jones won the contest by unanimous decision and also won the re-match at UFC 214 via a third-round KO. Despite the post-fight positive drug tests, the two fights continue to be held in high regards.

Cormier then won the UFC heavyweight championship against Miocic at UFC 226. He lost the belt the to the Croat at UFC 241 in August 2019, but had a chance to win it again a year later.

Losing the UFC 252 title shot, Cormier decided to call it a day and proceeded to announce his retirement. Till now, Cormier has only lost to two fighters in his professional career, against Miocic and Jones.

For Jones, the future is what he wants it to be. If he can avoid further controversy and focuses on making the move up to heavyweight, then it would be an exciting site for all MMA fans.
