Jiri Prochazka earned a second round KO win over Dominick Reyes

Reyes‘ bid to get back to winning ways was foiled by a wild and powerful Prochazka, as his second-round spinning back elbow sent ‘The Devastator’ crashing to the floor.

This was just the second fight in the Czech’s UFC career, after having made his UFC debut last year against Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 251.

The former Rizin Fighting Federation light-heavyweight champion extended his win streak to 12, and hasn’t lost in almost 6 years.

The sheer brute force and raw power of the 28-year old left the MMA community in awe, as he showed signs of becoming the next big force in the light-heavyweight division.

UFC Commentator and analyst Jon Anik wasn’t nonplussed with Prochazka’s performance. While acknowledging that he had a special night, Anik said he wasn’t surprised at all.

Anik wrote on Twitter:

“Old guy over here watching the UFC Fight Night replay on ESPN+ this AM before we tape @AnikFlorianPod. As I understand it, Jiri Prochazka had a special night. Special martial artist. Not at all surprised.”

Jan Blachowicz promises a fight with Jiri Prochazka

Light-heavyweight champion was quick to acknowledge Prochazka’s victory as he took to Twitter teasing a match with Czech soon.

Prochazka’s win against Oezedemir propelled him to number 5 in the light-heavyweight rankings.

And this victory against Reyes has certainly earned him a title shot. A strikingly similar career arc to Michael Chandler.

Blachowicz then mentioned that he would handle business with the Czech only after he gets it done with the number one ranked heavyweight contender Glover Teixeira at UFC 266.
