Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars after the comedian made a joke on Jada Pinkett Smith
Jared Gordon decided to share his thoughts on the incredible moment between Chris Rock and Will Smith at the Oscars.
Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, Will’s wife, which didn’t go down well with the actor.
Smith first called out the comedian and told him to keep his wife’s name out of his mouth. The actor then walked up the stage and slapped Rock before coming back to his seat.

However, Gordon of the UFC had another take on all this. The UFC star brought up Will and Jada’s relationship and posted his thoughts on Twitter.
You can sleep with Will Smiths wife, but you better keep her name out your mouth

This was in reference to the 2020 details about how the marriage between the pair was far from conventional. Both stars brought up their infidelity to one another and how Will had to understand that Jada’s upbringing wasn’t normal. This led to her having different thoughts on what a normal relationship/marriage is.
There was a lot of talk about the pair in 2020 and it seems this incident has gotten many talking again.
Was the Will Smith and Chris Rock incident fake?
The incident certainly got social media talking, but there seems to be a school of thought that the slap isn’t all that it seems to be.
Some eagle-eyed viewers claimed that the slap didn’t connect properly. Others also brought up how Rock seemed to be ready for the slap and Smith also didn’t punch him, when he could have.

His hand barely grazed him. Actors, especially action actors like Will Smith, know how to pull a punch (or slap) This was staged. pic.twitter.com/rLP0TucxHU
The Oscars also needed a bit of a boost after struggling with ratings last year. This incident certainly got a lot of attention and has dominated headlines throughout the day.
