Jamie Mullarkey compares his UFC Vegas 58 shoot-day mishap to the famous accidental incident involving Marvin Vettori

Jamie Mullarkey is all set to face octagon veteran Michael Johnson at UFC Vegas 58. Johnson is widely regarded to have some of the fastest hands in the sport, and a good contest against an experienced combatant would go a long way in developing an upcoming fighter like Mullarkey. However, he made the headlines this week for all the wrong reasons- an unintentional mistake involving the UFC Venum shorts, and pre-fight shoot.

Pre-fight shoot with the designated fight gear is a customary ritual. Fans, and MMA pundits alike draw observations from the shoot regarding the shape of the fighter, how their weight cuts been going, and the intensity they are coming with during fight week. However, Jamie Mullarkey became popular for entirely different reasons.

At UFC 263, Marvin Vettori broke the internet when he had his UFC Venom shorts on backwards. He was subject to severe mockery on the Internet and was ridiculed by his opponent, the middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Vettori’s mishap served as a platter for several meme templates for content scavengers on the internet.

Reacting to his incident, Mullarkey referenced the famous Vettori event, and wrote on his Instagram story, ‘Nooo, I got Vettori’d’

It’s actually refreshing to see that Mullarkey could detect the humor in the whole incident.
