Jamahal Hill celebrates making weight by doing a shoey

The latest to embrace the ‘shoey’ wave is UFC light heavyweight contender Jamahal Hill, who whooped it up on the weigh-ins

What started out as a filthy tradition has turned into a full-blown challenge, thanks to no.3 ranked UFC heavyweight Tai Tuivasa. MMA fighters, fans and even the boss man Dana White were seen partaking in the challenge.

The latest entrant to join the tide is one half of UFC 48 main event, Jamahal Hill. Hill was seen at the weigh-ins performing the famous shoey after he made weight for his upcoming bout – what was popularized by Tuivasa and normalized by Dana, has been adopted by Hill.

Hill is fresh off a knockout victory against Jimmy Crute and will look to make a statement on Saturday night. He faces the dynamic Johnny Walker who’s not a cakewalk for anyone in the division.

Johnny Walker and Jamahal Hill engage in an intense staredown ahead of Saturday’s UFC main event

Johnny Walker and Jamahal Hill had their mean-mugging game down to the tee when the duo faced off for the first time ahead of their anticipated showdown Saturday night.

The brief stared down to their fight has been a fraught one, with both fighters indicating that they are very much rearing to go and trade vicious blows when they meet.

As for the weigh ins, Walker stepped onto the scales at 206 pounds and Hill made championship weight at 205 pounds. The main event is a particularly tasty one given the explosive style of fighting both fighters possess.
