Jamahal Hill has sent an alarming warning to the light heavyweight division following his imposing performance at UFC Vegas 48 main event

Jamahal Hill stole the show at UFC Vegas 48 when he knocked out Jonny Walker cold inside the first round. This is his second straight win within the first round, making his combined octagon time for the last two fights less than 4 minutes.

Hill was oozing with confidence right from when he made the walk inside the cage to standing across Walker and sizing him. Walker advanced first circling Hill and landed some good sequences involving a kick to the body and up top. Hill kept constant pressure after being put up against the fence and utilized his scramble to reverse position. Walker was against the fence when he tried to land a straight, but Hill countered with a drilling shot right to his temple, knocking the Brazilian out cold.

During his post-fight interview Hill said,

“(The title is) definitely what I want. I’m ready to come for that. But right now, we’re going to see. I’m going to take a look at the division and see what’s up and get with everybody. I’m going to get with the head bosses and see what makes sense.”

What’s next for Jamahal Hill?

With this dominant victory against Johnny Walker it is possible that Hill might break into the top 10 UFC light heavyweight rankings by Monday.

Regardless of the ranking, his two consecutive first round victories speak volumes about his obstinacy of being the champion. He spoke his mind out during the post-fight interview and made it clear that he’s in here for the long run.

“I’m feeling great,” Hill said. “I just wanted to come out here and show myself again and show what I can do. It’s time to start having a different kind of conversation, because you all are asking the wrong questions about me. ‘Where’s he going next?’ How good am I for real? Stop doubting. Start believing, ’cause it’s for real.”

He also brought out his son during the post-fight press interview and stated that he wants to provide some naps to the tired division.

Hill should target a fight against someone in the top 8 next that will cement in the title race. A fight against Dominick Reyes or Volkan Oezdemir makes sense for him currently.

Although this win has brought him one step closer to his dream, he still has some fights left before he gets to compete for the coveted UFC gold.
