Israel Adesanya issued a warning to old rival Robert Whittaker with their rematch inching closer

Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker will square off against Robert Whittaker in a rematch on the 12th of February, 2022 at UFC 271.

The pair met more than two years ago at UFC 243, when then-interim middleweight champ Adesanya knocked Whittaker out in his own backyard to become the undisputed champ.

Izzy has held the title ever since, defending it against the likes of Paulo Costa, Yoel Romero and Marvin Vettori.

As for Whittaker, he fought his way back, maintaining his number 1 status, with wins over Darren Till, Jared Cannonier and Kelvin Gastelum.

With the rematch inching closer, Adesanya issued a warning to ‘The Reaper’ on Twitter, claiming that ‘this would be worse than the first time.’

He wrote:

“Look in my eyes. Eat, sleep, train, repeat… It’s a plan that can’t be beat!! This will be worse than the first time.”

Israel Adesanya chimes in on Dan Hooker-Jon Jones Twitter war

Dan Hooker and Jon Jones recently went back and forth on Twitter. It all started when Hooker took a dig at Jones for assaulting his wife in the wake of Chael Sonnen’s recent arrest.

Wishing Jones a Merry Christmas, Hooker wrote:

“Life hack: if you don’t beat up your wife, family events will be more enjoyable. Merry Xmas bitch.”

Izzy, Hooker’s CKB teammate joined in on the fun:

“I’m fun at family events!!”
