Henry Cejudo has made some observations on Conor Mcgregor and his latest training footage
Conor McGregor recently shared a clip of him boxing at the Crumlin Boxing Club. The Irishman seemed to be trying to get into rhythm as he returns from a leg injury.
Former two-division UFC champion himself, Henry Cejudo wasn’t quite impressed by the footage. Conor can be seen working the round pad, hitting some heavy shots with full throttle and swing. Cejudo stated that swinging the hips entirely like in a boxing fight opens up takedown opportunities, and puts fighters in a backseat when it comes to sprawling or takedown defense.
Cejudo also referred to himself as the GOAT (greatest of all time) and posted this on social media. ‘MMA is different than boxing if you over turn your hips it leads to easy takedowns. It’s hard to recover your position if you over throw your hips. You essentially add more time to whatever punch you throw next. You really need to understand setup punches. – Sincerely the 🐐’
McGregor has lost his last two fights with his UFC 264 outing against Dustin Poirier ending in disaster. The Irishman broke his ankle in the fight and the clash had to be stopped in the first round.
The Notorious has been on the recovery path ever since, and it will be interesting to see who he fights on his return to the Octagon.
Conor McGregor is no longer the highest-paid athlete, while Jake Paul makes his debut on the list
Forbes released their latest highest-paid athlete list, and while it was certain that Conor McGregor would be on the list, he did drop down from his previous position. Meanwhile, Jake Paul broke into the top 50, and McGregor slipped from his position at number one.
In 2021, McGregor topped the list at No. 1 overall after he earned a whopping $180 million for the year, which included selling a majority share in his whiskey brand Proper No. 12. Currently, he is ranked 35th after he reportedly took home $43 million with $33 million coming from fight purses through two fights with Dustin Poirier and another $10 million for endorsements and sponsorship deals.
Jake Paul has kept himself busy as a boxer and promoter, and made reportedly earned $38 million for the year. Paul’s salary includes $30 million from fight purses and another $8 million from endorsement and sponsorship deals. Currently, he is ranked at No.46.
One of the greatest footballers of all time, Lionel Messi came in first after he reportedly earned $130 million through a lucrative contract while playing for Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona along with a wide array of endorsement deals.
