Giga Chikadze has been climbing up the featherweight ladder quite speedily

Chikadze earned a stunning KO victory over the experienced Cub Swanson in the co-main event of the recently concluded UFC Vegas 25.

With just over a minute gone into round 1, Chikadze’s liver kick was too painful for Swanson, as he slumped to the floor, grimacing in pain.

With that win Chikadze took his unbeaten run in the UFC to 6, with an impressive 5 wins coming in the last 14 months alone. The Georgian who has an overall record of 13 wins and just 2 losses, has never been finished in his career.

The win took Chikadze from number 14 to number 10 in the featherweight division rankings, as he looks set for bigger challenges.

At the post-fight press conference he called out someone he looked up to – Max Holloway, and also expressed his interest in fighting the lately inactive Yair Rodriguez.

More recently, Chikadze has responded to an almost year old callout from fellow featherweight Jeremy Stephens.

After Chikadze’s win over Jamey Simmons last November, Stephens tweeted, “Nice fight Giga Chikadze. I accept for December buttcheeks let’s go @ufc.”

6 months later, Chikadze replied wanting to put some violent show for the fans. He tweeted:

“Are you still ready for that buttcheeks? @LiLHeathenMMA Let’s put some violent show for the fans! @ufc @danawhite @seanshelby @AliAbdelaziz00.”

Giga Chikadze becomes the first Georgian to break into top 10 of UFC rankings

Chikadze was ranked number 14 before his fight against Swanson. But the impressive win took him to number 10 in the latest UFC rankings update.

By breaking into number 10, Chikadze became the first ever Georgian in UFC history to break into the top 10 of the UFC rankings.

An elated Chikadze took to Twitter to announce the same:

His fellow countryman Merab Dvalishvili might be the next one on the list to break into the top 10.

He is currently ranked number 11 in the bantamweight division rankings, after going an impressive win streak of 5 wins.
