Francis Ngannou will have Kamaru Usman with him at UFC 260

It looks like Kamaru Usman cannot wait for another UFC belt to come to Africa. Cameroonian-born French heavyweight star, Francis Ngannou, is primed to take on Stipe Miocic at UFC 260.

The heavyweight title bout is a rematch of their encounter at UFC 220, where the American won. But things are different now.

And one of the things that differ from last time is that Ngannou has welterweight champion Kamaru Usman helping him with his wrestling.

This comes after news of him training for months with boxing coach Teddy Atlas. And Ngannou revealed in his blog (h/t MMA Fighting) that he was happy to have ‘The Nigerian Nightmare‘ in the corner with him for the title fight.

“Kamaru Usman is gonna be in my corner for this fight. So it’s good having him here, helping me for the fight. By this time, you need everything. Basically, he’s gonna be on my corner. It’s good for him to see where I am and then to bring his own assets to the game… It’s very important to get him in my corner, helping me with my wrestling.”

Francis Ngannou has another shot at the belt at UFC 260

This is just the second time in his 8-year-long career that the Cameroonian has a shot at heavyweight gold in UFC.

He lost his first title fight to Miocic in January 2018. The fight went to decision and Miocic was clearly the winner.

But now, he has a chance to set things right. And he looks like the best version of himself inside the octagon.

He is on a 4-fight winning run which includes big wins against Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez.

And he has finished all those 4 fights. Miocic may have a strong chin on him, but Ngannou might just be too powerful to handle.
