“I want Jon Jones” – Francis Ngannou is hell-bent on fighting the light heavyweight GOAT

Going by the look of things, a fight between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou might be inevitable

Ngannou is the reigning heavyweight champ. The hardest puncher in the history of the game struck HW gold when he beat Stipe Miocic at UFC 260, earlier this year.

In the immediate aftermath of his victory, a fight against light heavyweight GOAT Jon Jones who recently moved to the HW division, was planned.

However, a payment dispute between UFC President Dana White and Jon Jones caused the fight to be shelved indefinitely and the chance fell to Derrick Lewis.

Ngannou is now expected to face Derrick Lewis, sometime this year.

TMZ Sports recently caught up with Ngannou, walking through the streets of Beverly Hills, California.

He was asked if he wanted Derrick Lewis or Jon Jones. Without any hesitation ‘The Predator’ replied:

“I want Jon Jones…Oh definitely.”

Francis Ngannou then went on to reveal that his mind was set on Jon Jones.

While Ngannou didn’t give props to Jones sizing up for the heavyweight division, he did acknowledge the skill and talent possessed by Jones.

“I know he’s very skilled, very talented, I respect that. But we are both men and we’re gonna find out.”

Derrick Lewis will not go away without ‘rematching’ Francis Ngannou

Ngannou might claim that his mind is focused only on Jones, but Derrick Lewis on the other hand would have his focus entirely on Ngannou. The reason? Ngannou has an L against Lewis when the pair met at UFC 226 back in 2018.

Lewis won the fight via. unanimous decision. It was only after this fight that Ngannou went on a crazy run and became the heavyweight champion.

Hence, Lewis by all means would like to secure the Ngannou fight as soon as possible, as the victory in their first meeting would do a world of good to his positives, going into the rematch.
