UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones had a go at each other on Twitter

The spotlight in the heavyweight division is now on the newly crowned champion Francis Ngannou. ‘The Predator’ knocked the lights out on Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 to strike heavyweight gold.

The immediate aftermath opened talks of a possible bout against heavyweight newcomer Jon Jones.

Jones who relinquished his light-heavyweight title last year, moved to the heavyweight division in search of bigger challenges. But, he hasn’t made his debut yet.

Just when the fans thought that they would see Ngannou vs Jones soon, a payment dispute between Jones and UFC President Dana White caused a cloud of uncertainty looming above the fight.

Despite this uncertainty, Jones has been actively training and is almost in his final heavyweight form, and has from time to time been calling out Ngannou on Twitter.

More recently, he decided to have another go at the Cameroonian, warning him that he would break him (Ngannou), if he fails to deliver the knockout blow.

Ngannou laughed it off saying he doesn’t remember the last time Jones knocked someone out.

Ngannou’s tweet read:

“Please don’t make me laugh! When is the last time that you break somebody out?”

Ngannou once again tweeted, mentioning how Jones has struggled even in the light-heavyweight division of late, calling him a ‘decision fighter’.

Ngannou tweeted:

“You’re a decision fighter @JonnyBones and you’ve barely won a fight lately. But you’re going to break me out.”

Ali Abdelaziz has a piece of advice for Jon Jones

Despite Jones training rigorously and calling out Ngannou, the negotiations for the Ngannou fight have been far from convincing.

Hence, Dominance MMA CEO Ali Abdelaziz had a piece of advice for the light-heavyweight king.

In an interview with Brett Okamoto of ESPN, he requested Jones to sit down with Dana White for a dinner, and talk with him face to face, and avoid using Twitter to defend himself.

Abdelaziz also claimed that White isn’t someone who is hard to deal with.
