Amanda Ribas, UFC women’s strawweight, opened up on her decision to discontinue on OnlyFans.

UFC strawweight sweetheart Amanda Ribas sheds light on her decision to quit the OnlyFans platform. Several UFC stars have been active on the exclusive content platform by putting their account behind a paywall, aka making it pay-per-view. This way, they charge subscribers a monthly fee to view exclusive content. This model encourages loyalty from fans and generates a steady source of income.

Flyweight contender Ribas, ranked 15th in the world, tried out the subscription service for a while before cancelling her membership because she was “embarrassed” to share her private life online.

The Brazilian, however, was not interested in taking that path, and consequently never made millions, or even close, on the site. Though she has 2.1 million Instagram followers, the flyweight fighter has opted to use more traditional forms of social media to communicate with her audience. Speaking in an interview with Sherdog, Ribas stated:

“I did one time but for me was a little hard because for me I didn’t put what the the fans was expecting. So for me was not too good. But okay, (for those) who like to do it, I don’t have nothing, but for me was a little hard you know? So I don’t like it. It’s crazy for me because I don’t do a lot of posts in English or everything. And I think this is the difference because sometimes I just do like, Oh, my dogs are here and they are screaming so I do the video so is the things that people enjoy,” she said. “And this is good because I don’t need to force something. I just do what I do.”

Tracy Cortez pulls out of Amanda Ribas fight at UFC Orlando due to medical issue

The UFC made the announcement that Tracy Cortez would not be competing in the preliminary flyweight bout against Amanda Ribas shortly after the official weigh-ins for Saturday’s event. There was no information provided about the nature of the medical issue or whether or not the fight would be rescheduled.

Both Cortez and Ribas made weight on Friday morning, with both coming in at exactly 125 pounds.

The offical statement on UFC website read: “Due to a medical issue with Tracy Cortez, her flyweight bout with Amanda Ribas has been removed from this weekend’s event.”

Cortez was scheduled to fight for the second time in 2022. Her 4-0 record inside the octagon was bolstered in May when she defeated Melissa Gatto via unanimous decision at UFC 274. After suffering a defeat in her professional debut in 2017, Cortez has won 10 consecutive bouts.

Ribas had recently lost to Katlyn Chookagian by a split decision in May. After starting her UFC career undefeated at 4-0 in both the flyweight and strawweight divisions, the Brazilian fighter has now lost two of her last three bouts.
