Floyd Mayweather had bet on Dustin Poirier for UFC 264 main event, overlooking his rival Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 3 ended in one of the most anti-climactic fashions. An entertaining round saw McGregor snap his ankle towards the very end of the first round.

The fight was waved off by the referee Herb Dean after officials checked McGregor, declaring him unfit to continue.

Poirier was awarded the fight via. TKO due to a doctor stoppage. ‘The Diamond’ thereby gained the upper hand in the rivalry (2-1), probably settling the scores in the rivalry.

A quadrilogy was talked about in the aftermath by UFC President Dana White, although he couldn’t give an official confirmation of the same.

Elsewhere, McGregor’s only boxing opponent and one of the greatest of all time, Floyd Mayweather thanked Poirier since he had bet a whopping $50,000 on the ‘Diamond’ to get the job done.

Taking to Twitter, Mr. Money posted a picture of the bet slip. He had won a whopping $35,714, thereby taking back $85,714.

Justin Poirier brands Conor McGregor a clown following ‘The Irishman’s loss at UFC 264

Number 2 ranked lightweight Justin Gaethje who has never had admiration for Conor McGregor, reacted to the ‘Irishman’s loss, trolling him with a clown emoji.

Gaethje and McGregor have never fought against each other even once. But, they have a strong disliking for each other. ‘The Highlight’ often expresses his disgust at the ‘Irishman’s attitude very often.

Gaethje is currently expected to fight Michael Chandler, although there has not been any confirmation from the promotion. He last fought Khabib Nurmagomedov on October 24 at UFC 254.
