Diego Sanchez seems to be a huge fan of UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC veteran Diego Sanchez is still going strong and even at 38, he is getting fights.

Sanchez has been in the MMA game for a long time and next fights Jake Matthews at UFC 253. The 38-year-old has been coy on whether this would be his last UFC fight but was preparing hard for the same.

Sanchez has seen hundreds of fighters over the years but during an earlier interview, he claimed that Khabib Nurmagomedov is the greatest of all-time.

Khabib is undefeated in his MMA career and has lost just one round in the UFC. The Russian is the current UFC Lightweight Champion and has dominated all rivals so far.

Khabib has a tough fight in his next outing as he defends the title against Justin Gaethje. Gaethje looked impressive while defeating Tony Ferguson and the pair are to meet at UFC 254.

Sanchez had a lot of praise for Khabib in the past and recently tweeted that he wanted the Russian to finish his career remaining undefeated.

Sanchez also added that Khabib was his favourite fighter, which does come as some praise given the quality of stars in the UFC.

Winning streak to end?

Many believe that Gaethje has the qualities to match and beat Khabib. It is going to be an incredible fight and Khabib has the chance to go 29-0 if he beats Gaethje.

The 31-year-old Khabib has spoken of facing Georges St-Pierre in his 30th fight, and it will be interesting to see if he gets that.

Khabib is already one of the greatest to have ever fought in the Octagon. His clash against Gaethje will also be another mental test as the Russian lost his father and coach, Abdulmanap, a few months back.

However, if anyone can overcome this challenge, it has to be Khabib.
