Former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez has been struggling with COVID for several days

Diego Sanchez has been battling COVID for quite a while. The former UFC fighter has been updating the same on his Twitter account.

And more recently, it looks like the disease has gotten worse. Sanchez has developed pneumonia due to COVID.

Taking to Twitter, Sanchez shared an image of himself in the hospital bed. He captioned it:

“Pneumonia Covid never give up.”

Sanchez also hihglighted the seriousness of the disease. Calling that it was no joke, Sanchez stated that he had got blood clots.

“Blood clots now! Covid is no motha fuckin joke.”

Sanchez, also added.:

“Blood clots in both my legs.”

Earlier, last week, Sanchez slammed top-ranked UFC welterweight Colby Covington for playing down the seriousness of the disease.

Following his post, Sanchez received words of encouragement and support from his fans.

Diego Sanchez was released from the UFC earlier this year

Diego Sanchez was one of the longest-standing fighters in the UFC’s roster. Just a fortnight before his fight against Donald Cerrone in May 2021, he was released from the promotion.

The reason is believed to be Sanchez and his trainer Joshua Fabia not providing medical clearance for Sanchez to fight.

The Ultimate Fighter 1 winner had been a part of the UFC for more than 16 years. His record currently stands – 30 wins and 13 defeats.

Sanchez is currently 39 years old. He hasn’t joined any promotion since being released by the UFC.
