Khamzat Chimaev pulled out of the fight against Leon Edwards next month

The headliner of UFC Fight Night Island 8 is called off as Khamzat Chimaev pulled out of the main event scheduled for January 2021.

The fight had earlier been postponed from December 19 after the Jamaican-born Edwards tested positive for Covid-19. But this time, the issue is centred around the Chechen-born Swedish fighter.

No official reason has been given for the cancellation, and UFC are yet to officially address it. This leaves the main event in jeopardy as it is uncertain if Edwards still fights anyone, or the fight is replaced altogether.

Amidst this, many fans have been speculating as to what the reason for Chimaev pulling out might be. And now Dillon Danis, as he has a habit of doing, has given his controversial opinion on the issue on Twitter.

Fans roast Dillon Danis for sharing his reason why Khamzat Chimaev pulled out

The 27-year-old American took to his Twitter account to share why he thinks Chimaev is out. He took a dig at Chimaev and mocked him for pulling out due to a ‘jammed finger’.

Danis also mentioned that The Chechen Wolf is not as tough as says he is; he pointed to the fact that Chimaev once said that he could multiple guys in a day but now has to pull out of a fight due to a minor injury.

There is, of course, no report or indication to prove that Danis is right in his assessment. The Bellator star went on to receive a lot of flak from MMA fans.

The Bellator star has fought just twice in the last 2 years after having a knee injury. However, MMA fans were ruthless in reminding him of his inactivity as compared to Chimaev.
