Joe Rogan will make his much-anticipated comeback at the UFC commentary booth, come this Saturday
The biggest question circulating the UFC 271 fight week was the presence of Joe Rogan in the broadcast team, after he was in deep waters for a compilation of racist videos of him that surfaced on the internet.
Although a majority of fighters and the promotion stood by Rogan during these times, he still stayed away from work at UFC 271. The team had cited last-minute ‘scheduling conflicts’ as the reason behind the absence.
However during the post-fight press conference, Dana White was at his usual brutal honest self and clarified that Joe Rogan could’ve been present for the event, but he choose not to.
Dana White recently sat down with Barstool Sports, and when asked about the availability of Rogan, the UFC president said, “Yeah, he’ll be here. Rogan is on this week, Cormier’s off.”
Michael Bisping will complete the commentary booth team alongside Jon Anik and Rogan.
‘It takes a real man to apologize’ – Terrance McKinney explains his support for Joe Rogan
The 27 year old lightweight fighter has emerged as one of the brightest prospects in recent times. He is on a five fight win streak and in addition to that, he speaks straight from the shoulder.
When asked about why he supports Joe Rogan, McKinney said,
“It’s because I know what it’s like to make mistakes, and I don’t think we should define people off of their mistakes, but how they come back from them,” McKinney told MMA Fighting on Thursday’s episode of We Got Next. “It takes a real man to apologize publicly. He could’ve just hid out, said nothing, but he knew what he did wrong. He accepted it, he apologized.
“He’s out there looking out for us. This guy came out for my fight [and interviewed me after I won], which helped me blow up. He’s always looking out for us, and I think we should give him that respect.”
