Conor McGregor has been unloading plenty of derogatory tweets aimed at Daniel Cormier
Conor McGregor had been taking shots at several rivals of his, on Twitter, and one particular Tweet of his aimed at Khabib Nurmagomedov and his dad didn’t sit well with the members of the MMA community.
Khabib’s dear friend and former UFC heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier hit out at McGregor for posting insensitive comments about “someone’s family.”
That’s when McGregor shifted his attention towards Cormier. Since then, the Irishman has been calling Cormier out for being a “fat drunk f*ck” and many other names.
Cormier decided to give it back to McGregor in his recent interviews. In an interview with Amy Kaplan, Cormier claimed that McGregor should be worrying about the guys who defeated him, instead of worrying about a retired fighter like him.
Cormier said:
“The reality is, Conor McGregor should not be worried about me, right?” Cormier laughed. “He should worry about those guys that are in there beating him every time. That’s what you worry about. You can’t fight me. All him and I can do is speak words to each other because he could never fight me. I’m heavyweight or light heavyweight. He’s a 155 pounder. Worry about the Dustin Poirier’s of the world, the Khabib Nurmagomedov’s, the Nate Diaz’s, those guys, the guy that you’re competing against.” [via FanSided]
Several other MMA stars have hit out at McGregor for his recent insensitive Tweets. However, it was Cormier who caught The Irishman’s eye.
Daniel Cormier asks Conor McGregor to get off the Internet
Daniel Cormier reiterated the same in the recent DC&RC Show on ESPN. DC stated that McGregor must get off the Internet and worry about beating the fighters who beat him.
Here is what Cormier had to say:
“I’m done, I’m retired. I’m living my best life. You need to worry about trying to beat the guys that you fight against. Get off the internet. I don’t hate this dude, but McGregor, fall back.” [via BJPENN.com]
McGregor is currently serving a 6-month medical suspension, after suffering a leg break at UFC 264.
The Irishman’s left ankle snapped in the very first round of his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier.
