Conor McGregor gets plaudits for his most recent act of charity

UFC lightweight fighter Conor McGregor was out doing good things in the past month. ‘The Notorious One’ posted a video and a series of photos on Instagram that revealed his charitable work in the past few weeks.

He kept it silent for a while but finally spread awareness about the great cause by sharing photos and videos of his time helping the kids.

McGregor said that he and some friends of his promised to raise money for St. Joseph’s Primary school buy running 150 kilometres over the month of February.

The Irishman proudly states that he completed the distance with a 21km blitz. St. Joseph’s Primary is a school for visually impaired kids.

You cannot put a price on a gesture like this. But the amount raised was significant, with a cheque of €20,000 made out to the school.

Many fans and celebrities lauded McGregor for this act. One called McGregor “pure class” while the Irishman’s partner, Dee Devlin also commented “amazing! well done”.

Conor McGregor has done charity work in the past too

This isn’t the first time that the former UFC double champion is stepping up to the plate when it comes to helping those in need and making the world a better place.

He donated close to $100,000 to a charity called ‘Tunnel to Towers’ through his whiskey brand, Proper Twelve.

Apart from this great gesture for the first responders during the Covid-19 pandemic, he also donated $500,000 to Dustin Poirier’s ‘The Good Fight’ foundation.

In October of last year, McGregor donated a huge amount of cash to boyhood club Lourdes FC. This amount was directed towards getting the team a brand new kit and developing their training centre in Dublin, Ireland.

It is great to see a star like him actively work towards helping others in such a way. A role model for many, such actions leave an imprint on his younger fans as well, offering us all a hope that the future will be a better time than the present.
