Colby Covington believes he is at the peak of his MMA career and now wants to show the world his ‘full potential when he faces Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272 on Saturday night.

At UFC 272, former teammates turned bitter rivals Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal will lock horns at the main event. The two were former roommates and the best of friends but their relationship went sour over a pay-related issue surrounding a mutual coach.

Also, as both MMA stars lost title fights to Kamaru Usman in their previous trips to the Octagon, each of them will be desperate for a victory to get another opportunity at the welterweight crown.

Ahead of the blockbuster bout, Covington has ensured fans there will be ‘violence and blood’ in the Octagon. Covington admitted that he is currently at the zenith of his career after a great training camp. ‘Chaos’ also recalled his fight with Usman and insisted he had actually won the fight despite the judges not seeing it in that manner.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Covington spoke about his fight with Usman in November last year. The 34-year-old suffered defeat via unanimous decision but claimed that he had fans stating he won the fight.

Covington now has a chance to end his bad blood feud with Masvidal in the Octagon and he doesn’t plan to hold back. “Now, I feel like I’m at the peak of my game and I want to show everyone my true potential. This is the biggest rivalry I’ve ever had. I could rest easy with my past accomplishments but I was never content and I want to leave a bigger legacy for myself.”
